About James Meyrat

James Meyrat is an experienced attorney with more than 20 years of legal practice spanning litigation, courtroom advocacy, and transactional law.
Licensed in both Kentucky and Texas, he represents clients in a broad range of civil and criminal matters with a practical, client-focused approach grounded in decades of courtroom and negotiation experience.
Before relocating his practice to Kentucky, James spent nearly two decades in private practice in San Antonio, Texas, where he handled complex family law disputes, real estate and landlord-tenant litigation, probate and estate administration, guardianships, and consumer matters in both state and federal courts. His work included jury trials, bench trials, appellate advocacy, mediation, and arbitration.
James currently practices in Kentucky, where he has served as a Staff Attorney with the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy and as an Associate Attorney handling foreclosure litigation, title examinations, and real estate matters.
In addition to litigation, James advises clients on transactional matters such as real estate transfers, contract drafting, title opinions, settlement agreements, and small business legal issues. He is fluent in French and also communicates effectively with Spanish-speaking clients.
Outside the practice of law, Mr. Meyrat is an avid cycling enthusiast and a proud father of five children who attend Our Lady of the Assumption and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart. His commitment to family, faith, and community reflects the same dedication and integrity he brings to serving his clients.
Mr. Meyrat earned his Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Hendrix College. He is admitted to practice law in Kentucky and Texas, as well as the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas.
